A/C Update and other news 25 June 2003

So, we have to get a new A/C unit. There is a leak in the inside and outside coils, so that isn’t good. Good is that they will be out tomorrow to install the new system. So we’ll be cooling off again soon. Of course we’ll be broke, but at least we won’t be broiling in the house.

In other news, I have to mail books to 5 people from BookCrossing! I’m waiting till I get paid…this air issue has really messed with our budget. I’ve also got 2 or 3 new books arriving soon. I’m really liking this BookCrossing thing. I get to trade so many books, it’s fabulous, and cheaper than buying all these books at the bookstore.

Oh, I’m trying out a new spam blocker that is an add-in to Outlook, Spam Inspector. I like the one I’ve been using but an addin is just easier to work with. I had twenty-something spam messages this morning in my email and it processed all but two. One that was spam it missed and one that wasn’t spam that it quarentined. I think that is a good detection rate. And of course, as I mark messages as spam or not spam it keeps track of it so it knows for next time. It may be a product worth buying. I have 15 days to try it out.

Oh yeah…Happy Birthday to me! I’m officially 28 years old. Well, ok, it’s not really official til 10:46 PM tonight, but who’s keeping track. :)
