Revolutions bullet 07 November 2003

We saw Matrix Revolutions last night. I thought it was pretty good, but I felt flat when it ended. That is the only way I can explain it. Just flat. The movie made sense, somewhat…it is a complex trilogy for sure, so I think it made as much sense as it could to me the first time around. My husband wants to have a marathon and watch all three so he can analyze them more in depth. I can say it was definitely an interesting movie.

It started at 8:45 so I only watched the first 15 minutes of CSI before we left. I did set the VCR to record it so I’ll be watching the rest tonight. I must say it was very gory. I was eating a KitKat when they started showing the head and I just had to put the candy bar down. It was really gross! But for some reason I want to say it was a rerun. That I’ve seen that episode before. Was it a rerun and I just don’t remember it that well? Or am I just thinking of some other episode?

I’ve been trying to become more active in the MT forums helping folk who are having issues with MT. I hope I can be of some help since I do have some knowledge and skills. I’m really looking forward to MT Pro and hope some of the features that are currently lacking in MT will be included in Pro.

Photoshop CS has arrived. Well actually I got the entire Creative Suite. I am looking forward to installing it and playing around with it some. I have partially completed 2 new linkware templates, so that will give me something to do with it. I’ve been wanting to play more with it and just make graphics and such with whatever tricks I learn. Who knows. If I ever have time to do something like that and I develop enough graphics, I may make a little gallery for them.

Why is it that anytime I try to go to the beginning of the line or the end of the line in Zempt it jumps me to the beginning or end of the whole paragraph. It is very frustrating. I have to get the mouse and move the cursor that way, because Home or End just doesn’t work like you’d think. Hmmm, maybe I’ll have to send the makers of Zempt a message about that.

I won’t be going camping this weekend. Camping will be taking place in a remote area with no water or facilities and there are certain times of the month, where that becomes more than I want to deal with, ya know. So I will be staying home, reformatting my computer (my husband got a laptop from work, so I’m taking his old one, which is better than mine) and playing with Photoshop. I also plan to read a lot this weekend.

Hey, I’ve been reading your blog for a while. Thought maybe I could help with your matrix experiment. Here is a note I wrote myself after watching it…

The Brilliance of The Matrix
For all the nay-sayers, and detractors of the final installment of the Matrix trilogy, and for all who have not yet seen it, I come bearing a gift. This gift was given to me by myself, because I wanted to know it. If you think the movie plot was far too obtuse, then you are, in a sense, correct. But the gift I have is that the movies come with instructions embedded like so many other things inside the movies themselves. What was it Morpheus told Neo when they first met. “Free your mind.” The statement in itself is obtuse, so lets chase the rabbit a little deeper. What was the object lesson taught to Neo in his first training. If your watching the girl with the red dress on then your missing everything. If your enraptured by the obvious symbolism then you can not see anything else. Free your mind. This movie is not for everyone. The Oracle told Neo two things when they first met, “You have to want it.” was the first thing, and the second was, “If you’ve come here looking for answers then you’ve come to the wrong place. All we have are questions.” No, the movie isn’t for everyone, thank goodness, some people don’t want out, some people don’t like being out. And of course, this is absolutely acceptable (assuming there aren’t really any man hating machines to deal with).

The Zempt people are aware of this and plan to fix it in the next version. I was annoyed by that from the first day I used it, but it has enough good qualities that I can’t stop using it!!! :)

What version of Photoshop did you have before? Is CS worth the upgrade?

My fiancee has been trying desperately to get me to the theater to see Matrix. I saw the first one, and loved it after the third time when I really started to understand it, but I have yet to see the second or third. I didn’t go to see the second, and am a little hesitant about buying it just so that I can say I’ve seen it, and I don’t want to see the third one without seeing the second one. Eh. Maybe I’ll give in.

I’ve really been thinking about getting Photoshop, but it just seems so intimidating. I’m just a simple PSP girl. :)

Take care!
