Film Perspective

Saturday we went and saw National Treasure. What a great movie. I think Nicholas Cage was great. I’ve heard that this movie has gotten mixed reviews, but I can say I really enjoyed it. Although I kept expecting a more climatic ending…the bad guys coming back after realizing they’d been duped. But other than that, it was good and definitely one I’d get on DVD.

We finally watched Shrek 2 and I have to say it was a little over the top. There were way too many references to other movies, shows, songs, etc. It lost it’s originality because of it and I didn’t quite enjoy it as much as the first movie. It also felt more adult-oriented than the first, probably because of the many pop culture references. The DVD had a few special features that were fun. And I do have to mention that I loved Puss. Antonio did an excellent job and the cat was one of my favorite characters. He was up there with Donkey in my book. I liked the Fairy Godmother…she was fun but her “evil factor” was minor so she wasn’t a character to hate.
