Concert Night

We had a blast at the concert. Chris Cagle was just awesome and we both agreed that we will definitely go see him again. Even though he was an opener, he performed as if he was headlining. It was great. Rascal Flatts was, of course, excellent as always.

We got to the arena around 7:10 and the show started at 7:30, so I was pushing my 10 minutes but all was well. I did get held up in traffic on the interstate and was freaking out thinking I’d be late.

We had 2nd row seats, but when Rascal Flatts came out, the event staff let us jump in to the front row. I had a perfect view of them dancing and singing. And at the end of the show, I managed to 2 two autographs…Chris and Joe Don.

It was a great night and the most fun I’ve had in a while.

Fort Christmas

I spent Saturday at “Fort Christmas”:http://www.nbbd.com/godo/FortChristmas/ with family. They do pioneer demontrations at many festivals and such throughout the year and I just happened to be around for this one. So while my SIL was setting up her loom to do some weaving and her friend was spinning some silk, I sat around and did a little knitting. The organizers came around and marked me down as a demonstrator. It was pretty fun and I finished the 3rd strip of my country afghan. I was using synthetic fiber and aluminum needles, but I had a good time anyway and several people came up to ask what I was making. It was my first time at a function like this and I definitely want to do it again.

TiVo

We’ve joined the millions. We have TiVo! Yep. We took the plunge and made that our Christmas gift to ourselves. We got the Toshiba one that has the DVD recorder on it, so if we record something we like, we can burn it to DVD.

Besides the Season Pass, there one thing I love about it. It will control our cable box. No more problems with compatible remotes. It doesn’t do some of the cable box functions, but we had a hard time finding a remote that would control the cable box for changing channels and such, since we have a Motorola box.

The more we play with it the more we like it. We’ve got several programs set to season pass (CSI, Charmed, Las Vegas, StarGate) and still have a few to program in.

It claimed to only read and record DVD-R, but we managed to get to read a DVD+R last night, so who knows. If all our DVD+Rs work, then we won’t need the 5-disc changer either, so that will mean we only have one remote…the TiVo remote. Woohoo!

A New Look

Instead of maintaining a separate “blog” for my knitting, I’ve combined it with my main site. For now, it will look the same. I may give it a separate layout at some point. I’ve got a fabulous little knitting gallery that I think will work well. As you can see by the credit, I’ve switched to Textpattern. I like the interface, I like the small footprint and I love instant results (no rebuilding). I will probably stay here for a while. None of the old posts have been converted. With the new year, I plan to start with new posts. So all new content will be posted. This setup will work well for me for now, since I haven’t been knitting as much and probably won’t be posting too many knitting entries.

Update: 12/14/2004 – I added back all old posts from the past year. I missed having all my knitting posts here so have fun browsing through my trials of Knitting Year 1.
