OK, It’s time to make my New Year’s resolution. I plan to finish a few UFOs in my stash. By priority and starting today (yes, I’m starting my resolutions today):
- Grandma’s Doily – It might not get done by Christmas, but I’m going to put as much effort as I can into getting it done. Maybe when we get to FL tomorrow, I’ll have time to relax and work on it.
- Blanche – I’m about 1/2 done with the back panel. Then all that’s left is to block and seam.
- Crochet Afghan – All that’s left is to piece it together…35 squares and do two rounds of edging. Oh and I’ll probably have to redo one.
- Sock #2 – The one sock I did two summers ago is missing its pair so I need to get it done. I feel much more comfortable on dpns now that I’ve done my legwarmers so maybe it won’t be so akward. And I really don’t mind dpns anymore. I guess it just takes some getting used to.
- Chamomile – I’m going to have to rip the front and start over. That’s why this project is last on the list. My knitting has loosened over the past two years so my gauge is way off. I started this project with needles two sizes bigger than the pattern says, but that was the only way I could get gauge. I realized that the front is coming out much bigger than it should, so I feel I need to start over.
So, those are my priority items before I start anything new. I also have another crochet afghan that I’m working on…a gingham and ruffles in two shades of green and a cream. It’s going to be gorgeous when I’m done, but it is made up of about 300+ small granny squares. I’ve got about 30 made. I’m not in a rush with this project and it’s the one of all of them that I won’t feel guilty about if it takes me 3+ years to finish. The squares are so simple to make that it’s just a fun project to have around that doesn’t require too much concentration. I’ve also decided that depending on just how nice it turns out, I want it to be a family heirloom.
