Stupid Building

The building I work in had elevators. We are on the 3rd floor. But the elevators are always out of service. I wish they would fix the stupid things. And what irritates me is that they will shut them down but not put up any signs so you could be standing there waiting for 5 minutes before finally giving up. It pisses me off that the lazy building owners won’t fork out the money to fix the thing permanently. I was so winded just now, I can’t imagine how it might feel in 2 or 3 months from now. And I walk about 30-40 minutes everyday, so I’m not completely out of shape.

Nursery

In response to the comment made in the last post, We are decorating in Baby Looney Tunes. And as soon as we can, we’ll be finding out the sex. We decided as soon as I found out that we wanted to know. I think I will be 19 weeks when we find out, if the baby will cooperate.

We haven’t decided on names, and I suspect that we won’t officially decide ‘til we know what we’re having.

Productive Weekend

We had a very productive weekend, even though I didn’t get as much rest as I should have. My parents came up and it was great to see them again. Mom and I went shopping all day Saturday. We took the dog to the pet store to get shaved. Then we went to Target, where I got a pair of maternity pants that are so comfy! They have an elastic waist with buttons on each side. I can adjust the elastic using the buttons as my belly grows. I love them!

After lunch we went to Baby Depot (Burlington Coat Factory) and I was floored by all the baby stuff they have. I’ve never seen so many little clothes…the racks were so full, you couldn’t fit one more thing on them. They had a whole wall (floor to ceiling) of nothing but diaper bags. Rows and rows of bedding. I will definitely be going back to get stuff. We bought the bedding for the crib and I got the cutest little duck outfit. I also got a frame to put the sonogram in.

A few hours later we picked up the dog from the pet store and came home for dinner. I ate dinner and went straight to bed. At 7:30pm! I was sound asleep by 8pm.

Sunday, dad helped my DH move the computer desks out of the nursery. So all the big furniture is now out of the room and all that is left is a bunch of junk on the floor and in the closet. We’ll be weeding through it over the next few weeks.

Mom also helped me clean out the closet. So I put away a lot of the winter stuff and stuff that doesn’t fit me anymore but I hope to wear again next year. Of course, we were so into doing shirts, I totally forgot to do pants, so all my pants are still hanging. I will have to go through those maybe this weekend. At least I know what fits and what I need to get. I realized I don’t have nearly enough shirts. Most of the shirts I used to wear are cropped, so they aren’t long enough to cover my belly. LOL! I guess I’ll be going shopping for maternity shirts soon.

I bought the first pack of diapers last night. It was a weird feeling to walk around the store with them in the buggy. But it was so cool too, especially checking out. :)

Baby Caps

I’ve printed out some patterns for baby caps and booties…so I can start making a few for my baby. I can’t wait. I even have plenty of scrap yarn to use. Since the baby is due in Oct, I even found a pattern for a little hat that looks like a candy corn. It’s the cutest thing.

Besides the hats, I have a goal to try to finish my 2nd sock this weekend. If it doesn’t get finished, I’m dedicating next weekend to getting it done. DH is going camping with the guys, so I’ll have the house to myself. I’m sure I can find time to at least work on it and maybe get the heel turned.
