Sitting up 19 May 2007

For over a week now, Amelia has been struggling with pushing herself up to sitting from being on her belly. She worked and worked at it, and today she did it. She went from her belly to sitting up! She only did it once, but I’m so glad I was right there to witness it. It’s moments like this that make me wish I could stay home with her everyday instead of leaving her at daycare and going to work.

I made a big deal of it and the smile on her face was so rewarding. These are the best parts of being a mom. Seeing her face light up because she knows that mommy is right there. I’ve been at home with her for almost two weeks. Yes, I went to work for three days in those 2 weeks, but she stayed at home with my mom, so it was a little different than her going to daycare. But we got used to me being at home with her. Now that we have to go back to our normal routine of work and daycare, it’s going to be a big adjustment for both of us. I just hope we can get back on track pretty smoothly for both our sakes. I still have tomorrow with her, but I’m already dreading Monday.
