Yesterday I decided to stop by my LYS to see what new yarn they had. I was also planning on picking up some yarn to make some socks for my sister. Would you believe they were closed? For the whole month of May?! How crazy is that? I swear, I don’t know how she has stayed in business this whole time. Almost every time I try to go, I find it’s closed. They did have a sign on the door saying they had a new yarn: “Brown Sheep”:http://yarn.com/webs/0/0/0/0-1001-1294-1323/0/7/ So I guess I’ll have to try again in June. Crazy, I tell you!

Truly a Mom
I’m truly a mom.
I’m in desperate need of pants and shirts for work. Since I’ve now got the poochy post-pregnancy belly, I can’t use most of my old shirts that are too short and would reveal my yucky looking belly. I’ve always needed pants, that’s just a given.
But instead of buying myself a few shirts and a pair of pants, what do I do? I spend $25 on yarn so I can make my daughter a knitted jacket. It’s actually a really cool looking jacket and when I showed my husband he really liked it.
I can’t wait for the yarn to get here so I can find my gauge and get started.

Brightly Colored Dad
I was showing my dad the Lapghan I knit a while back and he said I needed to make 3 more just like it and piece them together to make a really big afghan. I have thought about making another one but making more longer strips. He thought this was a wonderful idea, but he wanted me to use bright reds and oranges. He apparently loves those bright colors that normally people wouldn’t put together, especially for an afghan that is going on the living room couch. Now I know why my mom crocheted the blanket they have in their living room in the colors that she did. He requested it that way! Of course, now he’s got me really wanting to make another one of those blankets.

Knit Books
I went out at lunch and bought a new knitting book. I’ve been wanting this book for a while because of several patterns. It’s the Mason-Dixon Knitting and I’d love to make the Log Cabin Blanket, the Moderne Log Cabin Blanket, the Ball Band Dishcloth, the Great Bathmat and possibly a few others. I also ordered Last-Minute Knitted Gifts and it’s already shipped. There are a few items in there that I’m already eyeing, such as the Soft Drawstring Pouch and the Sweater and Stocking Minis. Those will definitely be great teacher gifts for Christmas. Now I just need to finish a few of my current projects so I can get started on some of the ones in these two books. LOL!

Needle Inventory
I took the time to inventory all my knitting needles and crochet hooks. I added them all to my “ravelry”:http://www.ravelry.com notebook. I am coveting a set of Denise Interchangeables. Hoping to get them for my birthday. If not, I may have to just get them for myself.
