Magic Loop

I’m attempting to knit my dad’s socks using the magic loop method. I’ve already ripped it out once and started over because I have gaps where the needles/cables join. Yuck! But it’s weird. I’ve only got it on the main cuff ribbing. Once I switched to the main pattern stitch that runs the length of the sock, the stitches look normal. I’m thinking about just going on instead of starting a third time. It’s such a pain. I really don’t like casting on. I think part of my problem is that my cast on is too tight. Next try I will cast on with a larger needle. But I like how the pattern is coming out. Of course, I’m only about 3-4 rows past the cuff ribbing, so there’s not much to show right now. I will post pictures when I have something worthy to present.
