Happy 9 Months

My little munchkin is 9 months old today. Wow! I can’t believe that in 3 more months I will have a toddler! She gets cuter every day. She gets smarter every day and more adorable. I love her to bits. She is my life and I can’t imagine how I lived before her.

She pulls up and stands on her own now. She loves to use her daddy as a jungle gym and will climb over him endlessly. She knows her paci and will reach for it in the middle of the night. She loves to give me kisses and her giggles fill my heart with so much love.

Having a daughter is such a blessing and I’m eternally grateful that God gave me such a wonderful little girl. She can definitely be a handful, especially when she wants to be held constantly or when she is so tired but refusing to go to sleep. But the little moments when she smiles up at me or when she reaches out for me or when she gives me a big hug first thing in the morning make up for the fuss and crankiness. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Mommy loves you, Amelia.

A New Knitter?

My sister is a librarian and she knows that I knit, I’m making her stuff. So when she saw a few knitting books she checked them out for me to look through. Then while she was out buying supplies for work, she saw all the knitting books and all the neat things you can make. Now she wants to learn!! Woohoo! It would be so exciting if she learned to knit. We could spend weekends just knitting together. I’d have someone to talk to about all the cool yarns and patterns. Cry with over the mishaps and struggles with a new stitch or whatever. So awesome! And maybe, just maybe, I could get her to join ravelry. :)

One Down, One to Go

First pedisock is finished. It has stretched out a little with handling so I hope it shrinks back into shape. I checked and my gauge is on, but even so it’s a little big. I hope it shapes okay and that my sister’s foot is a little fatter. I’ll know next time to go down one needle size for a snugger fit. Should have done that this time. Not sure why I didn’t because I thought about it. Too late now though. Oh well. Hopefully they won’t be too big on her. If so, I’ll just make her another pair. heehee! I’m having fun with it and it’s such a quick knit!

Pedisock Analysis

I’m just about done with the first of the pedisocks pair. I don’t really like that particular heel style. It looks fine and when I block them it will probably look better, but I’m just not thrilled with how it turns out. After looking at other FOs on Ravelry it seems like my ribbing is too big. Like longer than the 1 inch that the pattern says to knit. I just measured it again and it’s about 1/8 of an inch too long. Oh well. I just have to make sure the 2nd sock is the same…I’ll count rows and do the same # so it will match. :) At least the recipient likes them so far. She’s thrilled and can’t wait to wear them. I tried the one on and it’s pretty comfy. ;)

I Can Keep the Yarn!

I have an awesome husband. I do. I bought all the yarn I will need for my bearclaw blanket, but after I ordered it I wasn’t sure about the colors, so I ordered more in a different color, thinking I could decide once I got it and then send back what I didn’t want. Well, when I told my DH, he said to just keep it!! Imagine that! He actually told me to keep the yarn. Of course, now I have to figure out what to knit with 765 yds of fingering weight 100% cotton besides socks. LOL!
