My Daughter, the Gymnast

My daughter can’t stop tumbling and flipping. She’s constantly doing somersaults and cartwheels in the living room. She flips herself off and on to the couch. She does hand stands in the bedroom between the bed and dresser. She hangs upside down from the trapeze bar on her swing set. She has so much energy, she is constantly moving! I was never this active as a child, and especially now as an adult. When I pick her up at school, she’s doing hand stands and leaning against the wall. I think she wants to do back flips, but hasn’t quite figured them out yet. I ask her to pick something up off the floor and she’ll somersault to the object. Pick it up and somersault back to where she was!

So I’m making the move. I’m calling around to get her into a gymnastics class. She took a gymnastics class in pre-school and had a blast.  She begged me to sign her up, and it was her favorite day of the week. I really think she will enjoy a more advanced class that will let her practice the tumbling she absolutely can’t keep herself from doing all over my living room.

What do you do if  your children have this kind of boundless energy?
