Why is it that bras are so uncomfortable? Who ever thought that it was a good idea to hold ourselves up with metal wires?
For years, I’ve resisted the wire bra. They hurt. I can’t find one that I can withstand for the long hours of a workday. But I’ve come to realize something. In order to wear a sexy bra, I have to go with wire. Even in the high-end store like Victoria’s Secret there isn’t much in the way of wireless. But after spending a ridiculous amount of money for one bra that isn’t all that comfortable anyway, I’m not sure I want to do that again.
Bra fit is important and many women never wear a properly fitting bra. Why? Why is it so hard to find the right fit? I don’t think it’s that difficult to figure out which one is right. You measure around one spot, measure around another spot and do a bit of basic math. Yet, somehow, we never get it right. And I’m not convinced that even the salespeople at the stores can get it right.
I decided to do a bit of research and found a site (HerRoom) that had some recommendations. Sure, they might be wrong, but they did make some sense. And since millions of women wear bras with wire (since there’s not many wireless options out there), there has to be a bra out there that isn’t miserably uncomfortable. I’m determined to find the right fit. I’m on a mission and will report back after some experimenting.
If you are a woman, do you, too, struggle to find a comfortable underwire bra? Or am I the only one with this problem?
