Swim Deep

Last weekend, we spent the day with family. They have a pool. This pool has a diving board, which requires a fairly deep area to dive into. Add some diving masks, and the fun begins. The last time we went swimming over there was in June, right after I sprained my ankle. There really wasn’t much “swimming” going on. Just a bit of floating around.

A Private Swimming Pool

This time, I did get my swim on. Or something like that. I took ownership of one of the several masks and went diving down to the bottom of the deep end.

I’m not sure what is really going on with my ears, but I can say that all that pressure from going so deep in the water seemed to actually help. Maybe it balanced out the pressure in my ears or something. But since then, the roaring in my ears is gone. And as long as I keep taking my diuretic, the dull humming is also fairly tolerable. I can tell that it’s getting progressively worse as time goes on, but it seems to have switched ears and is so much better than it was last week.

I’m now convinced it does have something to do with my ears and not just a side effect of some other issue. Every time I went down in the pool, I could feel the pressure on my ears. At first when I’d come back up, it really felt like I had a ton of water in my ear. After a while, that feeling went away and I could tell things were getting better.

This morning, when I woke up, it hit me how quiet the house was. I haven’t felt that way in a while. I will definitely be mentioning this change to my ENT on my next appointment.

  1. An outstanding share! I have just forwarded this onto a coworker
who has been conducting a little homework on this.
And he actually ordered me dinner due to the fact that I found it for him.
